Creamy & Silky Homemade Hot Chocolate

Creamy & Silky Homemade Hot Chocolate...
For Lovers.

Seriously, what is better than chocolate, strawberries & whip cream? This hot chocolate is definitely one of my favorite cold weather drinks. I wish I could take all the credit for such a decadent recipe.

This gourmet hot chocolate recipe comes from Creamers Coffee House. It was a Valentines Day special and it was liked so much that it is now a part of their regular menu. It was even awarded the "Best Hot Chocolate in North Carolina" or so the owner says : ) They coined it "Hot Chocolate for Lovers" The name fits this drink PERFECTLY.

It's so silky, smooth and creamy, so rich it could be a dessert! Topped with a huge mountain of cool whip and garnished with a big, red, juicy strawberry. You'll definitely want to cuddle up with your favorite loved one.

The moment I tasted this hot chocolate I knew what the secret ingredient was...WHITE CHOCOLATE!! Duh why didn't I ever think about adding that to my homemade hot chocolate recipe. White Chocolate is naturally smooth & creamy and goes perfect in hot chocolate.

I am loving you so much Creamers Coffee House for allowing me to share your fabulous gourmet recipe!

Ingredients (makes 2 big serving)

1 c. water
1 c. milk
2 T. Unsweetened cocoa powder (a good quality)
2 T. sugar
3/4 c. white chocolate morsels
1 t. vanilla

Step 1.) In a saucepan add 1 cup of milk & 1 cup of water. (I've tried it with just 2 cups of milk and it's very rich and creamy!)

Step 2.) Add 2 T. of Hershey's unsweetened cocoa powder & 2 T. sugar

Step 3.) Stir over medium heat until well combined.

Step 4.) Add in 3/4 c. white chocolate chips & 1 tsp. of vanilla extract. Constantly stir until the chocolate is melted. Never let the mixture come to a boil. Reduce heat if needed.

Step 5.) Ladle into mugs and top high with cool whip. Garnish with shaved white chocolate and a big strawberry. Once that cool whip melts down into the hot chocolate it has that same frothiness as marshmallows! YUMM!

Cuddle up, sip & enjoy!

*Note* Let me forewarn you guys that this stuff is rich & SWEET, SWEET, SWEET!! I'm sure you figured that out from the white chocolate, cool whip and sugar though right? lol If you prefer a milder hot chocolate then hunnie child...this is not for you! On the other hand if you love all things ultra chocolately then my friend...let me introduce you to pure bliss. (You could also add in some extra milk to even out the sweetness.)
