Who Am I, You Ask?

"She's sexy, confident and can make a homemade peach cobbler that puts grandmas to shame! Who am I talking about?"

I'm talking about YOU and I'm going to show you how!

People are often blown away when they taste my down-home cooking. They see  french tips and 4 inch heels and assume I know nothing about cooking. I love showing other divas just how easy it is to THROW DOWN in the kitchen & create delicious meals from scratch. So join me in my quest to prove that

YES, DIVAS CAN COOK!!!!

Hello Divas & Fellza!!

My name is Monique aka "The Cooking Diva". I created this blog after my girlfriends kept telling me I needed to make a cookbook. I've been cooking since I was a child, learning tried & true recipes passed down from my mother, grandmothers, a slew of aunts & uncles and even creating a collection of my very own recipes.

I love testing out and tweaking recipes and throwing taste-testing parties so you can be sure that nothing but the best makes it on my site!

I am not a chef by any means, I don't have a state-of-the-art kitchen with professional recipe photos (I always hated when my food didn't turn out as pretty as the ones in the cookbook) On this site what you see is what you get! You are bound to see some clutter on my counters or mix-match lids on my pots--This is REAL cooking peeps: )

As for me, I'm just a silly chick who loves COOKING and EATING good food. I'm on the mission to create the BEST RECIPE COLLECTION ever and I want you to join me!

Cooking is a skill that every woman should have in her "bag of tricks". So even if you've never cooked a day in your fabulous life, my tried & true, step-by-step recipes will help you get started in whipping up some tasty homemade dishes that will impress the best.

I'm excited to share my favorite recipes with you and hope that you will try them out!

Ok..now don't just sit there looking pretty, grab a recipe and get cooking!!

"Life is short, better eat while you can honey!"
-Me

XO ; )

  9. Thank you. I promise you, I have become increasingly annoyed when I see/hear my husband make comments about other women's cooking that somehow makes me feel like I can't do the same thing. I'm developing a complex :o) I was searching for collard greens instructions and stumbled upon you. This year, in addition to other things, I am thankful for YOU!!!

  15. Hi Monique I love your blog and recipes. I first found your blog by watching your sweet potato casserole video (it was delicious by the way). I was wondering have you ever made or eaten Potato Jacks or Sweet Potato Jacks. If so do you mind sharing or showing how you cook them. I've been trying for years to make them and I fail everytime lol. Thanks in advance.
